ALEX LORENZ
Alex Lorenz has been interested in photography ever since he first obtained a Minolta Maxxum 7000 in 1985, the world's first combined autofocus and motorised film advance camera. It was the fascination with the evolving technology and what it could do that caught his attention initially.
The real boost, however, came during the very early phases of the “digital revolution” in photography. This seemed like a harmonious marriage: his interest in using computers for graphical design and the evolving technology in digital photography caught his passion. First with Kodak cameras, and then Nikon and Leica cameras, Alex continuously expanded his knowledge in camera technology, lens understanding and filter effects. Most certainly, he is also one of the many guilty of overusing filters in his early photography!
Today Alex continues to strive for interesting photographs - photographs that he himself would and does enjoy and would have no problem printing and hanging on his walls. A selection of these photographs can be found on this website.
Alex Lorenz is a member of the Royal Photographic Society.
